CDI: Signature Collections
In 2006, the Claremont Colleges Library embarked on its first project, the Claremont Colleges Digital Library . The Claremont Colleges Digital Library was built using CONTENTdm as its digital asset management system & nine core collections from faculty, campus art collections & the library’s special collections.
In 2010, using bepress Digital Commons as the digital asset management system for Scholarship@Claremont, the library archives & provides access to the scholarly output of the Claremont Colleges, as well as provides a publishing platform for journals produced at the colleges.
To ensure optimal discovery, access & interoperability, all collections are based on standards employed by the profession. All collections are available for harvesting using Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting.
- Claremont Colleges Digital Library
The Claremont Colleges Digital Library was established in 2004 by the Academic Deans of The Claremont Colleges upon their approval of recommendations from cross-colleges Task Force. The digital library went live in April of 2006 & is managed by the library Center for Digital Initiatives. Additional support & oversight is provided by the Center for Digital Initiatives Advisory Board comprised of faculty & staff from across The Claremont Colleges.
Scholarship@Claremont is an open access scholarship repository with a set of services to capture, store, index, & provide access to scholarship produced by the Claremont Colleges academic community.
