Find Books by Call Number

There are three different types of call numbers used to classify materials in the Library: LC Call No, Govt Doc Call No, and Dewey Call No.

LC Call No.

Most items in the Library use LC (Library of Congress) call numbers. LC call numbers look like this: PS 530 M617 1963. If you want to find a book with a specific LC call number, use the LC Call No. search.

Search by LC Call No.

Govt Doc Call No.

Items published by the US Government use SuDoc (Superintendent of Documents) numbers. SuDoc numbers look like this: D 1.6/2:P 94/11/2005. If you want to find an item with a specific SuDoc number, use the Govt Doc Call No. search.

Search by Govt Doc Call No.

Dewey Call No.

A few books use Dewey call numbers. Dewey call numbers look like this: 565.393 R733. If you want to find an item with a specific Dewey call number, use the Dewey Call No. search.
