How do I request items through LINK+?
You place the request yourself via the LINK+ catalog, either from Blais or by
going directly into LINK+. Within a Blais search, click on the LINK+ icon to
find the item in the LINK+ catalog. Click on "Request This Item," identify
yourself as being from Claremont, and type in your name and college ID number
to make the request.
Can I select the library where the item will be borrowed?
The LINK+ system will automatically select the lending library.
How long does it take?
Requests usually arrive in 2-4 days.
How will I know when my LINK+ item has arrived?
You can monitor the status of your requests through
your library account
in Blais. When the status of a requested item appears as "LINK+ RECV'D", it is
ready for pickup at the Honnold/Mudd Library Circulation Desk. If Circulation
has your email address, you will receive email notification when your requested
items arrive.
How long can I keep the borrowed item?
The loan period for all LINK+ books is 21 days. There is no grace period. Some
books can be renewed once for an additional 21 days. During the
Media Lending Pilot Project, media materials (DVDs, CDs, etc.) have a 7-day
loan period with no renewals.
Can I renew LINK+ books?
One renewal may be allowed. Check
your library account
to be sure the renewal is approved and the item has a new due date.
Can I go to the other library and get the book myself?
The Visiting Patron function of LINK+ allows a Claremont Colleges' student,
faculty or staff with a current library account to go to most LINK+ libraries
and check out books there. The books may be returned either to the owning
library or to Honnold/Mudd Library.
Are there fees or fines for LINK+ items?
The fine for items returned late is $1.00 per item per day. The replacement
charge for a lost LINK+ book, DVD, or CD, is $115.00.
