“Here Hadley Fell”

   I.
Matting rips,
 The maiden slips,
  Overtips,
   Down the stair.

        II.
     Swiftly slumps
      With jolting bumps,
       Heavy thumps,
        Hard to bear.

             III.
          Spraining nose
           And tearing clothes;
            Divers woes,
             Suffers there.

                 IV.
               Funnel slops,
                But finger stops,
                 Maiden lops
                  ’Gainst—no! where?

                       V.
                    Grasping hold,
                     Two Samsons bold
                      Maiden rolled
                       Through the air.

                            VI.
                         Girls galore
                          Bottles pour;
                           Wounds and gore,
                              They repair.
