Borrowing Periodials & Videos

Current (unbound) periodicals may not be checked out. Bound periodicals may be checked out for limited periods of time from Honnold/Mudd and Denison libraries. Videos circulate for a 3-day loan period and have a two-titles-at-a-time maximum. Thes materials may be checked out only by students, faculty, and staff of The Claremont Colleges.

Checking Out Library Materials

Bring your Library/ID card and the books you wish to check out to the Services Desk. Date due bookmarks are available at the desk; please get one before you leave. Blais will also indicate the due date.

You may also use the Self-check machine in Honnold/Mudd Library. The machine will print out a receipt for you, listing the books you have checked out and their due dates.

All Claremont Colleges undergraduate students - freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors - have a 28-day loan period. There is a limit of 60 items that may be checked out to undergraduate students at any given time. Videos may be checked out for a 3-day loan period.

Graduate students at CGU and KGI have a semester loan period. (Semesters are Fall, Spring, and Summer.) There is a limit of 140 books that may be checked out to graduate students at any given time.

Faculty and staff of The Claremont Colleges may check out 100 books. Staff have semi-annual due dates, at the end of June and the end of December. Faculty have an annual due date, in early April. Faculty and staff are asked to return materials as they finish using them. At the due date, all items which are still needed and have not been recalled may be renewed.
