Overdue Items, Fines & Lost Items
Overdue materials & fines
One (1) courtesy reminder will be sent to you two days before a book is due and another will be sent approximately two days after the book is due if it has not been renewed or returned. Failure to receive an overdue notice does not exempt you from obligation to the due date. Please remember to pick up a date-due bookmark at the time of checkout.
When a book is overdue by 10 days, it is billed (recalled books are billed on the 9th day overdue). Until the time a book is billed there are no daily fines for most books. At billing time, you will be charged $100.00. When a billed book is returned, $100.00 will be credited to your account. Please be aware that an unpaid bill of $100 suspends student, faculty, and staff borrowing privileges. All other borrowers must pay all money due before borrowing or renewing.
Reserves, LINK+ and periodicals have hourly or daily fines that accrue.
Lost books
Borrowers are billed for materials which are damaged or lost. Lost books are billed at $100 each. Lost Link+ books are billed at $115.
Table of daily & hourly fines
Most items do not accrue daily fines, but when they are overdue by 10 days, you will be charged $100.00.
Some items, such as reserves and videos, accrue daily or hourly fines. Please note: Fines accrue even during hours the Library is closed.
