Overdue Items, Fines & Lost Items

Overdue materials & fines

One (1) courtesy reminder is sent two (2) days before an item is due and another is sent approximately two days after the book is due, if it has not been renewed or returned. Failure to receive an overdue notice does not exempt you from obligation to the due date.

See table below for cost of replacement fines. Please be aware that an unpaid bill suspends student, faculty, and staff borrowing privileges, including resource sharing. All borrowers must pay all money due before borrowing or renewing.

Lost books

Borrowers are billed for materials which are damaged or lost.

Table of Replacement Fines and Fees

Course Readings are considered lost and billed after 24 hours overdue. This is to ensure access to these resources to the entire Claremont Colleges community. Please note: Fines accrue even during hours the Library is closed.
