Accessing Resources from Off Campus

The Library owns or licenses thousands of electronic databases, journals, and other online resources. If you are a current student, faculty, or staff member of The Claremont Colleges you may access most of these resources from off campus.

In order to access resources from off campus, you must use the URL provided on the Library’s web site. You may connect from the web site or bookmark the correct link. Note: If you have trouble connecting from a bookmarked URL, try connecting from the link on the Library web site.

Here's how

  1. Begin by finding the resource you want to access from a list on our web site.
  2. A window will open and you will be prompted to login.
  3. Login using your last name and the 10-digit ID number on your college ID card. Note: the 10 digits should be typed with no spaces or dashes, even if there are spaces or dashes on your card. If you don't have 10 digits on your card, check with the Services Desk in Honnold/Mudd (ext. 18150) to find your complete ID number.

Once you have logged in the first time, you should not have to login again unless you close your browser.

Note that a few resources are not available off campus and a few others require a second login and password for access. If you have problems connecting to a resource from off campus, ask for reference assistance in person or using instant messaging or email.
